This calculator converts church year dates (eg "2nd Sunday after Epiphany 1789")
into a proper date.
Here one can make the following entries:
- Year:
Here you can either specify a year number as free text or increase or decrease it
gradually with the arrow buttons.
- Holiday or liturgical year cycle:
Here you select a holiday or liturgical year cycle:
- Number of Sundays after the holiday or in the selected cycle:
Here you can specify which Sunday in a church year cycle is to be calculated, or
what number of Sundays after a feast. For some fixed days, such as "Good Friday",
such a specification does not make sense. In this case this field is write protected.
If you remove the hook in the checkbox, you directly obtain the date of that fixed
day, eg "Good Friday" or "Easter". However, for "Advent"
or "Passiontide" an indication of the number of sundays is mandatory.
If all required information has been supplied, the "Calculate" button
is activated. Now click to display the result.
