AhnenWeb 2.2 is a web application programmed in C # and ASP.Net 2.0. It either runs on a Windows server with IIS and .Net 2.0 or a Linux server with Apache and Mono 2.0. Parts of the web application as the integration of maps with the Google Maps API are written in Javascript. Therefore Javascript must be enabled in your browser!

The data for this web application is created with any commercial genealogy software such as Ages! or Ahnenblatt. The only prerequisite for their use with AhnenWeb 2.2  is that they are exported to a file formatted with GEDCOM 5.5. The associated media (images) are in a subdirectory on the server. For AhnenWeb 2.2 , there are tools to upload the data and to edit the image hotspots ("click on the head leads to the person").

So this web application is completely separated from the ancestral data and can therefore be used for other ancestor projects as well.
